The DualShock 4 Wireless Controller in Magma Red features a two-tone finish with a red front surface and a black rear housing. It follows the standard DualShock 4 size and weight, with curved grips and a textured surface designed to support stable handling during gameplay.

The controller includes the standard DualShock 4 button layout, consisting of dual analog sticks, a directional pad, action buttons, and responsive trigger buttons. A Share button is included for capturing and sharing gameplay content through supported system features. Tactile feedback is provided by dual vibration motors that deliver in-game rumble effects.

A front-mounted light bar provides visual indicators for player identification and supported game functions, and works alongside the built-in six-axis motion sensor system for motion-based input in compatible titles. Wireless connectivity is handled through Bluetooth for use with PlayStation 4 consoles and supported PC platforms. The controller can also be used and charged through a micro-USB connection.

Power is supplied by an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery, offering up to several hours of playtime depending on usage factors such as vibration and audio output. Charging is supported via a standard USB power source, including when the console is in rest mode.
